Core Stabilization & Preservation
Coring is much more than just bringing a piece of rock to surface. To prevent core damage during surface handling and transport, the Core Preservation Service (CPS) provides safe, effective protection that helps ensure the integrity of core analysis.
Using a simple portable pump system to inject gypsum, resin or foam between the core and inner tube annulus or wax bath for wax preservation, the CPS provides important stabilization of the core within the inner barrel which is often used as transport equipment. The materials used are completely safe to handle and dispose of, and do not compromise core wettability or other measurements. Core invasion is eliminated, and core plug samples are retrieved in better condition.
Below Services Provided by NPC field engineers after core recovery:
1- Gypsum Stabilization.
2- Foam Stabilization.
3- Plastic Strip Core Stabilization.
4- Resin Core Stabilization.
5- Wax Preservation.
